There will be three or so more in this series but I need to wait for approval of those.
Next up: Photos of bits in Manchester (rather than beautiful women in Manchester).
I've really become more selective and critical of my own work. There will be fewer final photos than in any other sets I've done so far.

Manchester recap
25 Sep 2005 10:03 pmFriday: Left work, got stuck in traffic on the A14 but then made it reasonably quickly to Stockport (with another delay due to slow lorries and roadworks). Was lost a bit trying to find a station but did so eventually and then had no problems finding
puddingcat's. Chatted for a while and then set off for ARA, a goth club held in an actual church so a very appropriate venue. It's a fantastic place, the people are really friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
vulgarcriminal, Philip,
neilhist and other people arrived soon as well so we chatted, danced a bit (too much 80s but it was vinyl night so to be expected) and took silly and other photos in the church and surrounding grounds (see previous post for a preview) and had a really good time. Philip gave us a lift home, so we had a quick look at the photos and then hit our respective sacks (by the time I rolled up in my sleeping bag it must have been 4).
Saturday: The day of lots of wandering around. We took photos at various places (I got some sightseeing shots, too), had food at a place
robinbloke would love as they had all kinds of very good vodka, more walking, looking at US cars and finally going for a coffee watching the world go past before we went to the Mexican to celebrate
vulgarcriminal's birthday. I had the Lamb Shank of Doom (or, half a sheep, depending on how you look at it) which was lovely but the size of a family dinner. The others went to the theatre so
puddingcat got changed and we searched around for a few locations which we did find. Some good results, too, but most will need some post processing work. When we couldn't walk anymore, we took the bus home and lounged on the sofa with a bottle of wine, watching Buzzcocks and going through the photos.
Sunday: Got up and ready, took Betty Page photos of
puddingcat in the back garden (too much light/shadows problems again, I really need a peon with a reflector next time) and then Mrs and Mr
vulgarcriminal turned up and we went to the old church around the corner from the Mulberry Mews (after squeezing through a gap in the fence and climing a wall) for some not very serious photos involving crosses, graves, hand axes and stakes...
Back to the house for packing and saying good-bye (sniff) but with the promise of doing it again very soon.
Picked up Sami from the station (after some getting lost as I was searching for the correct bit of station), filled up at Tesco's and drove home with a lot fewer problems than on the way there (despite some busy roads, traffic was still flowing). As I didn't want the rest of the shank to go to waste, I invited Sami for dinner with some roast potatoes. There are still two slices of meat left! o_O
There will be a short preview in a bit but I'm really tired, shower and bed are calling.

25 Sep 2005 11:17 amThese ones are from Friday night, taken in and around the church ARA is at. Lovely venue and an actual church the organisers are allowed to use.

Off to shoot more photos in a bit.
