On Monday evening I visited [livejournal.com profile] puddingcat to see her new kittens (flickr link). The black and white one is a boy, tentatively named Gambit and the fluffy black/grey one a girl (no name yet). They aren't siblings but were kept together at the RSPCA so came as a package.
Just before I left, I got this shot of Gambit and I think there's a macro in it. Permission to do your worst hereby granted.

Kittens!

A friends' cat

Taken with the G10. When there's enough light, it's really good. Just a shame you can't move the focus point or it'd be even better.

This afternoon, friends invited me over to take photos of their 7 weeks old kittens (Gaga, the multi-coloured one and Rollins, the ginger one). They are adorable and were rather sleepy but woke up for a while to play with us.
As they live only five minutes away, I'm sure there will be more photos as time goes on.

Here's just a tiny selection:

Heidi has two very funny and adorable young cats (kids of her parents' farm cat). They are still rather playful and fun to watch. Here are a few shots with many more on flickr.

Yesterday my Nikon 85mm f1.4D arrived and boy, it's gorgeous! The only drawback is the lens hood that screws into the filter thread which means you can't put the lenscap on while the lens hood is attached.
We were at [livejournal.com profile] razornet's playing Call of Cthulhu so what better chance to test it than on black cats in a dimly lit front room. These were taken with the D70 at ISO800 so they still are quite noisy but I'm reasonably happy with them:

The game session was hilarious due to our PCs' incompetence and the silliest combat ever. Five grown men vs. an old man and he almost got away...

Then on my way home, I remembered that I had wanted to take a photo of the Budgens sign for quite a while so I did:

Sounds posh, doesn't it? The reflection is odd but I like it.

While [livejournal.com profile] cryx and I had fun taking photos on Saturday, a cat strolled past, checked us out and disappeared again. Too bad (s)he didn't want to stay and pose, so here's just a snapshot:
