Finally I managed to catch an episode. This time, on rivers. Theoretically nothing we haven't seen before but those pictures and shots were just amazing.
I've been a fan of nature/wildlife programs since I was little with Attenborough's 12 parter (was it just called The Earth?) being one of the highlights, when there was nothing that could make me miss an episode on Saturday evenings at 7pm. New filming techniques make pictures possible that have never been seen before and Attenborough is usually the first to use them.
I really like the diary bit at the end which shows how difficult it actually is to get those pictures. How many hours, days, weeks or even months pass before just a few minutes or even just seconds of usable footage.
In recent years, I'd lost interest a bit but Attenborough's programs are always fresh and utterly wonderful.
