for my new Tremere who I've just started writing the background for.
Concept: Victorian parapsychologist (house de-haunter, fairy collector, occult reseracher etc.). Stuffy, brooding and dark type, does his job for research purposes, not to help afflicted people.

I'll need a cane (of course) and lots of black.
I'm willing to shell out some money for it but within reason.

Any suggestions/ideas of what and where to get it?

perhaps..

you can get some VERY VERY nice victorian type clothes in camden...especially in the market..and it's not horrendously expensive!

Seconds shops are also a godsend, to get yourself some good tails or whatever.

Don't forget the hat - the mark of a man is in his hat!

which shop did you get your tailcoat at, Robin?

One of the seconds shops along by where FP is, also where I got my waistcoat, the tailcoat cost me a tenner, the waistcoat a fiver.

Bargain.

Only wish I'd had a hat for George - too late to add it now.

Urk, just wanted to suggest the first Sat in November, but that's the Scottish Regional, where I will most likely play the char for the first time.
I can't do this Saturday because I need to finish housework and Cam work...

Simon, have you got any plans for the 4th Sat this month? I need a guide to Camden and someone who can tell me if stuff suits me.
I'll treat you to a drink and a meal for putting up with me. ;o)

And yes, Robin, a hat is important. If only I could somehow get home and try and find the chapeau-claque (collapsible top hat) my granddad used to have and most importantly somehow persuade my parents that I need it. This would be difficult as they don't understand this LRP business...

not as far as I'm aware...but I could be wrong...*thinks*
not at the moment, although I suspect mara may be putting in a bid for my time around then...
I don't think I'm gonna be able to afford to go to the scottish regional...unless I can convince the brum travellers to let me in their minibus...and convince mara to come too.....
hmm..
shopping in camden is goood..and if I can't shop for myself due to lack of funds...shopping for someone else can be fun! 8o)
If I don't get booked for more important things..such as family events or mara type things..I'm all yours! After all...who am I to turn down free food and alcohol?

Cheers Simon!
I'll wade through the second hand shops in Cambridge this week and later, I'll let you know.
Tailcoat and waistcoat would be good. I just need a shirt I can actually fit my neck in, that's not going to happen... Do you think I could get away with an open collar?
Oh, and a cane, of course. ;o)

Open Collar? *gasp* Not if you're going for formal Victorian you cant! How about a large Crevatte?

Anyway - what's on the 4th weekend? If it's the Reading weekend then I prolly won't be able to as Andy & I were planning on heading off to stay at Rich's from the Friday.

I just had some valuable hints from JGE, leave the top button open but hide it with a scarf or cravat.
I've got a pretty good picture of what I need, now I only need to find it...

4th Sunday would be Berks 'ling.

"Don't trust men who walk with canes"
