Why and how could I have missed this guy so far? Probably because I don't listen to radio enough and judging by his looks only he's just another pop pap boy. Oh no, this man rocks!
I'm watching/listening to the gig at Blenheim Place on BBC1. Wow! It's like traditional jazz but with nice modern twists to it and performed with a modern, care-free attitude that's just fun to watch.

I just thought of a strange analogy: He's doing to jazz what Jamie Oliver is doing (or used to do when he was still fresh and funky) to cooking.

He is rather wonderful, isn't he? And yes, your analogy seems entirely appropriate, although I hope he doesn't go on to get as annoying as Jamie Oliver did later on (or maybe I just became more jaded...)

Having his concert to watch almost makes up for not being able to sleep...

he became properly big on the radio when he did a jazzed up version of "frontin'". He won some pop awards and thing, but yes, he really is rather good
