Fun evening

It started with the Kwick Cricket tournament at work which I managed not to sign up for with the excuse of having to take photos.
Considering that over 80% of our staff are not British and didn't even know the rules or what cricket was, they did incredibly well. There was lots of free finger food and drink as well so a good time was had by all.

Sadly, this meant I completely forgot the time and arrived 15 minutes late at the Calling. I had originally planned to be there at 9 to catch all of surje's superb set. Blimey, there was stuff I wouldn't have dared play at the Calling. Lots of wonderfully obscure Dark Ambient and neofolkish stuff. *turns to the other camera* Nice!
I think I can change my plans slightly for my set in September and play a soundscape thing to start off with.

It was very good to see and catch up with suzerain again. Here's hoping you find a job down here soon!

Loki's set was rather dire trad stuff to start with but then he played some good EBM/electro and made me dance a bit.

Don't have a date for Die Fabrik yet as someone was interested in the same date. I'll know early September. Hopefully.

I, Robot

Just saw a short making of documentary. Doesn't look very convincing in terms of story but it's very shiny so I might actually go and see it.
Another plus: Alan Tudyk (Wash in Firefly) plays (i.e. voice acts and provides the body/facial model for motion capture like Andy Serkis for Gollum) the main robot character.

In other TV news, I don't know if I should laugh hysterically or cry at the new NicNac ad (the chestburst scene from Alien).

Calling my US friends

Could some kind soul tape ABC's "Nightline" for me tonight?
There's an interview with Bruce Springsteen I would love to see.

I could reimburse you in some way or send something else in return.
