Searching for a Film

Mid 80s or so: A man trains sort of martial arts with a "mysterious" Asian teacher and in the end he's so fast he can run on water and dodge bullets.

Any idea what film that was? It was "[something] Man", IIRC.

When ffutures was talking about Repo Man the other day I thought that was it but when I checked I realised it was a completely different film.
Repo - Remo. Quite close, though.
