Weekend thoughts
13 Jan 2002 06:42 pmIt's been a lethargic weekend again.
Spent too long on IRC on Friday night, so I only got up at noon and didn't have enough time to do other things before heading down to London. Made breakfast, read some LJ posts and emails, showered and headed off to London. First stop was Leisure Games where I picked up Block Party, the third Chez Geek expansion and two WoD novels. Will bring the game to the pub on Tuesday, it's fun. Ran into Grim and Donna at the shop - can't you get anywhere without meeting Cammies? ;o)
Next stop was Resurrection Records in Camden where I found Deine Lakaien's fantastic acoustic album. Wandered around the market and shops a bit and got some Thai takeaway.
Then I headed off to the Southwark Tavern, chatting to people and collecting money for the Eric sponsorship. The bid total is now 200 quid which will buy us eight shares. Not bad. Tim brought me a bag of Atomic Fireballs which I managed to inflict on several people, *grin*.
The London Game was quite good, I even got brushed by plot, playing a Tremere. Spend most of the time IC talking to people.
Went off home alone, frowned at some drunken idiots on the train but managed to lose myself in the book I had with me (written by someone I met at the New Year's Eve party, not bad if a bit too pretentious). Unlike Steve, I had no problems with the journey as King's Cross tube station was open again (why was it shut down, anyway?) and the train was on time.
Drove home, chatted a bit with
susanofstohelit via ICQ, had some later dinner sandwiches and fell into bed, exhausted.
Got up after 2 this afternoon, another Sunday wasted.
I really need to get back to my Self Control resolution I made in September. I held through for a couple of weeks but it's as bad as before, maybe even worse.
I'm now resolving to go to bed reasonably early which will allow me to go to work earlier and hence give me more time in the evenings. This evening time will be spent less on IRC but more on necessary Cam work (spreading it out and not compressing it into the two days before the game) and especially on housework (my place looks like a dump) and more fun things I've neglected (finishing FF IX, read more, spending time off the computer, 12 hours in front of a screen can't be healthy).
Considering Cam, Bobby the Pooka GSA is looking for AGSAs. I think I'd like to go for Special Projects but I'm not sure if my creativity is up to it atm. I need to get other things like DST work in line before I take on yet another job...
Other things I want to do in the very near future is a redesign of my Cam photo page, improve the structure and layout. As part of the international photo team, Ronni offered me free and unlimited space on elysiumgrounds, which means the photos will be on a nice and fast server without any silly popups and ad banners.
For this I am searching for a tool that will create a thumbnail page from a directory of files and at the same time link the thumbnails to the big photos. Any suggestions?
Oh well, back to urgent housework or my sink will soon be declared a biohazard zone...

~is opposite way round, boggan primary and pooka secondary~
what I meant was if and when the boggan kithbook comes out I'd love love love to have you on side, but if your heart is directed at the pooka then thats fine too, either way go for it and good luck...

But thanks for the invitation :o)
