Back from Scotland

After a few delays and about an hour of agony due to stomach/bowel cramps caused by trapped wind, I'm finally back home.

It's been a fantastic weekend that involved meeting old friends, witnessing a wonderful handfasting ceremony with a good party afterwards, seeing various bits of Glasgow and the countryside, meeting new people and making new friends and a long and nice night out.

Thanks are in order:
Firstly, to rich_redcap and fithefairie for the invitation and assorted friends of theirs for making stuff happening.
And also to sublevel3 for crash and company plus lavindelf and her bloke fossilised for the tour of the countryside on Saturday. Meeting purplehez, anyanka_demon and Andy was great, too. And purplehez, we need to chat more about medieval music next time, ideally when we aren't drunk/tired. :o)

It was great to meet you. I'm glad you had a good weekend ... and made it to the airport in time, too!

Agreed about chatting more about music, especially since I don't actually really remember chatting about it on Sat. ;) That must have been after I drank those lethal shots! :)

Getting to the airport wasn't a problem, I always leave plenty of time.

You were also very taken by a poem in the Tony Wakefield book which you claimed you'd heard ages ago sung by some left-wing folk singer. I can't remember the title now.

Yes, I do remember the poem, "There Are No Gods" (I think!) ... and being generally impressed by the book in general. I'll have to have a sober look at it sometime! ;)

I still can't remember the name of the folk singer, and it's been really annoying me cos I'd like to find the song and compare it with the poem.
