I'm watching the Kingdom Hospital TV multi-parter and in the first episode there's this painter jogging along a road. The view cuts to a guy in a van. There's a dog in the back who just got into the cooler box for some juicy steaks. The driver is distracted, looks around and tries to get the dog off the steaks. Thus distracted, he veers off the road a bit and runs over the painter.
Recognise this? Yep, exactly the same happens to Stephen King in The Dark Tower (or is it Song of Susannah?).
Lazy sod. ;oP

If I remember rightly, it also happened to him in real life...

Think you'll enjoy Kingdom Hospital, we watched it all recently in only a couple of days and I was sorry that I'd gotten through it so quick :(

It's really good. Still spooky but not quite as fucked up as the Danish original.
I caught it on TV when it was on Sky but I missed a few episodes in between so need to catch up now.

Speaking of Danish originals, have you seen the orginal Nightwatch? (not the poor remake with Ewan McGregor)

I have the Danish original on my "to buy" list as I think [livejournal.com profile] mr_eleganza also recommended it to me.

Not seen the original Nightwatch either, not seen the remake either....

Don't bother with the remake of Nightwatch.
The great thing about the original is how it plays with your mind. You know *exactly* what's going on, you just don't see it. It's less gory than the remake but a lot scarier.

Sounds cool, I like it when films do that.

Occasionally there have been occasions when talking about a film that I might have seen a few weeks ago I mention a scene to someone in which something gory might have happened but on looking back at it the scene in question is sometimes not there and it's been my brain filling in an appropriate scene, weird.
