On the other hand, there are a lot of things I will miss should I go back to Germany.

- TV, cinema, books, media
Most films or TV series I used to watch are American, anyway, and I'd rather see the original than the dubbed version (as opposed to Scandinavia or the Netherlands where they have subtitles. Also a reason why people from those countries usually speak better English.)
Same goes for books. You can get English books on import without problems but they're very expensive.

- Ethnic food
Indian, Thai, Chinese etc.
There are Asian restaurants in Germany but most cater for the German palate which means it's turned down a lot. A hot curry in Germany would maybe qualify as a lower end medium over here.

- Cheap internet
Things like ADSL and cable modems are coming in slower in Germany than over here and at the moment seem more expensive. I guess it's a competition thing, as the phone/cable monopoly of the German Telecom was only lifted a couple of years ago and the market is still expanding/balancing.

- The people
In those almost 6 years (on January 5th) I've been here I found so many friends, mainly through gaming. First the Magical Druids club (sniff) and then the Cam with other people mixed in in between (hi Crispy and Tonya, if you read this). Every one of them seem closer than any I had while I was in Nuremberg (also for 6 years).
In general, people here are a lot more relaxed and easy-going which I like a lot, even at the workplace which surprised me a bit when I first got here. Pretty much everybody uses first names, which is almost unthinkable in Germany. I know people who've been colleagues for 30 years and still use the surname and the formal address.

There are definitely more things which will come to me at one point
