Just got back from London, and it was good.

Friday
Fell asleep after the shower so only got out of the house at 4:05. Didn't think much of it but there was an accident somewhere and from Elizabeth Bridge to the East Rd/Hills Rd corner it was pretty much gridlocked. It took me an hour to get to the station, meaning we missed two trains and had to take the SLOW one to Kings Cross.
Off to Southwark to get picked up by Tim and Andy who took our bags to EvilHQ. Then Robin and I headed to Piccadilly and got to the Criterion Theatre just in time.

The Reduced Shakespeare Company are absolutely wonderful and very funny, not very American at all. I don't want to give away too much for those who haven't seen them and want to. It's simply very very good. Oh, and don't sit in the first two rows if you don't want to participate ;o)

The show finished just before ten and we got to the Electric Ballroom about a quarter past. A phonecall to EvilHQ revealed that everybody was ready except Tim, so we waited for them inside.
People arrived slowly and soon there so many people that we could have easily have played a sanctioned Cam game. ;o)
The music was OK for me, the main room had some good moments, the upstairs was nu rock, too small and too crowded with a number of idiots who'd rather push everybody around than dance/headbang properly. I was about 10 years older than the average, it's quite scary. I left after letting go a bit durig Rage Against the Machine. It's too bad that the Ballroom doesn't have a proper classic rock room like Abigail's in XLs...
It was fun hanging out with all these cool people and actually doing something else than gaming.
The best bit started about a quarter to 2 with some reasonable guitar heavy industrial track I started dancing on. This went over to The Cult (Sanctuary) which really got me going and Depeche Mode straight after helped as well. I was even dancing to thump thump tracks I would usually never listen to (already earlier in the evening). 45 minutes nonstop on the dancefloor pretty much killed me for the night, though. I'm to old for this...
About 2:30 we started gathering people to leave. The journey to the night bus was a bit adventurous as Simon had told us a number that didn't exist, so after we walked for what seemed miles without finding N168 we took a detour over Trafalgar Square. *grumbles and hits Simon again* Nicola couldn't walk, so Robin first took her piggyback and then carried her together with Caroline. Quite impressive.
We finally reached EvilHQ shortly before 4 and just chilled and relaxed. Tim made pasta (mmm), lots of backs were rubbed, Andy and I fiddled the neon tubes out of Isi's hair (when Grim made that "grooming monkeys" comment ;o) and silly things were discussed until people finally wrapped themselves into their sleeping bags/blankets/duvets at about 6. Robin kept everybody awake by snoring so loudly you could think he wanted to cut down the National Forest, so I didn't really sleep. He stopped later but by then it was so bright that I couldn't sleep either (I need it really dark to sleep properly).

Saturday
Crawled out of sleeping bag and had Milka Chocolate Cream for breakfast. More sitting around and talking about strange and silly things followed.
Isi and Donna had gone to Camden earlier to get their hair done (neon tubes). Later Andy, Rhona, Craig, Robin and I went as well. Unfortunately, we didn't have the time to search for everything we needed. Robin found a top hat but I still don't have a pocket watch or a cravat to finish my Tremere costume. The Black Bean Pork I bought at one of the stalls was excellent, as was the Choc/Nut Donut Robin bought (Cheers, man!).
Resurrectin Records is a BAD place. They had too many CDs I wanted and they don't take cards and I had only 35 quid cash on me and no chequebook and the queue at the cash machine was too long. *grumble*
Andy, Robin and I then headed off to the regional officers meet at the game venue.
Nicola gave me a much needed backrub which put me right again. Mmmm, that felt good.
Before the game, Tim forgot again that he was supposed to take me back to EvilHQ for my stuff and headed off alone but at least he waited, so I changed and went back, just in time for time in.
Game was cool, just interacted and avoided plot. There was something happening, but not directly to me so I happily ignored it. Talked a bit and listened a lot.
Took train back to Cambridge and wrote this entry.
OK, off to bed now. Brum Mage in a couple of hours...

Sorry, I just seemed to forget about important things all weekend...

Hope you enjoyed yourself, though.
