I want a laptop to take home so I can do some stuff over Xmas.
Now, do I buy a cheap second hand one which would be enough for what I need it for (i.e. text processing and a bit of Internet) or do I get the offer I saw at ALDI (1 GHz PIII, 256MB, 20GB HD, DVD with TV out etc) for 900 quid? This would be ideal for taking off photos from my camera when I'm not home, watch DVDs (which would mean I could start buying some as I don't have a player which in turn would mean spending more money than I really want to).
I could afford the second one now by touching my savings and paying back in from my current account in the new year but I don't know if I really want to. On the other hand, I really want to treat myself for Xmas again. Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions.

In Germany, it's a discount store chain, really cheap at reasonable quality. Mostly grocery, but they do the odd special as well. They sometimes do electronics equipment like VCRs and things or other items as well.
Here, I haven't looked at their stuff yet as they don't do their German products here, unlike LIDL.
Mentioning LIDL, must go again.

In Peterborough we have both a LiDL's and an Aldi.

Um, not certain that's a thing to brag about, actually.
