Any tips for late lunch (after 2) near Leicester Square? Needs to be veggie friendly.

Sorry for the late notice but I'm meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] sesquipedality before we go and see Mirrormask this afternoon and I thought I'd ask those in the know before we look around for ages and find a crap place in the end.

Cheers!

I quite like Tokyo Diner, and I _think_ it's veggie-friendly (but I'm no veggie so don't take my word for that). Otherwise there are any number of Chinese places in the near vicinity of the square.

I found Tokyo Diner while doing a random search on london-eating but there were a number of recent negative reviews.
We'll have a look, cheers!

Good call. It was yummy and reasonably priced (for central London) too.

There's a reasonably decent asian-fusion place near Comic Showcase on Charing Cross Road, I eat there regularly when I'm in London. Can't remember the name, but it's not the chinese restaurant on the corner, it's a little further up.

Cool. Plenty of choice, it seems.

There's a vegetarian only restaurant as you walk down Neal Steet called Food For Thought - I used to go there as the portions were big, food really nice and prices not too bad. Although there is something to be said about the decor.

I think the decor is the least of our worries. Sounds great!
*searches* Probably a bit too far as we only have about an hour.
Thanks for the tip, anyway!

It's located towards the Shaftsbury Avenue end of Neal Street if I remember correctly. There is also a vegetarian/vegan salad bar in Neal's Yard, but never been there.

Oh and then there's this link - some might be close enough to where you'll be:

Dangnabbit, and I could have made the showing in the end as well.

I really like Chowki.
It's open 'til 3pm, and is just around the corner from Piccadily Circus:
2-3 Denman Street, London W1D 7HA, Tel: (020) 7439 1330
Go for the feast option!

The World Food Café in Neal's Yard is a great veggie place and Waga Mama (on the South side of Leicester Sq) isn't too bad either.
