is on at the London Film Festival.

but sold out already, it seems (according to the online booking thing). Bah. :o(

Edit: Ah, there are still tickets for the Tuesday showing. Hmmm, I could take half a day off work for that...

[livejournal.com profile] sesquipedality, fancy meeting up on the Tuesday? 30odd quid is a lot of money (ticket plus travelcard) just to see a film but if it never comes into a cinema near me, it'll be worth it.

Fuck it. I booked it. :o)

With Serenity and Night Watch it will have strong competition but yes, it should be good.

Yes, I've been wanting to see it since ever I heard of it.

Oh WOW. I think I do need to see that. Can't, alas, plan that far in advance to be in London :-(

It will be coming to the Arts cinema sometime, right?

I very much hope that it'll turn up at the Arts at one point.

It only has a very limited release in the US so the US DVD might be out before we get to see it here (as it was the case with Bubba Hotep).

It does have the advantage of being English Driven though, plus its got more media attention and larger fan base (if mckean and Gaimain aren't enough, the Henson company should have plenty of distribution power) so hopefully that won't be the case. Only seen a clip (the music-box dressing room sequence) that he showed us during a lecture, and that was more than shiney :D

The enitre thing is really good just form an asthetics and sheer shinyness point of view..

Hope it comes out as a cinema release as i really wanna see it again.

I really don't see any reason why it wouldn't, at least at the arts cinema. They may not have had much money to make it, but there are a few promo books etc (including the 'really useful book') to make me think they've invested enough time and money into the promotion not to. Anyways, what kind of a director isn't going to push to have his first full length directed film shown in his own country?!

plus it does have the big appeal for a descent age range as well as beign the clsoest thing nowadays to all the high fantasy labarynth, legend kind of feel. Hopefully will have a good reception, plus they did a heck fo alot with the budget they had could easily stand up to full cimema release.

My ticket is booked. It's been too long since I've seen you and it'll be good pre-Gencon stress relief.
