Flash flood

I just went to post some letters and Campkin Road, from and including the corner where the Jenny Wren is to almost where Hawkins Road comes in, is flooded, about a car tyre's height worth. There are chavs with their trouser legs rolled up wading around in the water... It's started raining again or I would have taken a picture.

Just came past that myself, and broke my usual rules about not cycling on the pavement. Had the bus got past by the time you were there? There was an impressive queue of traffic up Campkin Road too.

No, the bus was still waiting. Not sure what the driver was waiting for, it's not *that* deep. He probably would have to skip the next stop, as that was flooded, too.

I suspect it might be that he didn't want to risk causing the flood to spread to either the pub or the shops by driving through it. They might well get annoyed at Stagecoach, who'd get annoyed at him.

*nods* That's probably it. Even a car that came up Campkin and went around into St. Kilda caused quite a wave.

Entrance to the science park was so deep that cars were just stuck.... and the footpath was shin height at the deepest. Worst of all was that it smelt like shit and there's a sewage farm across the road.......
