First impressions: Wow
According to the sticker, Zillo magazine calls it "Definitely the best electro album of the year" and gives it 10/10. I couldn't agree more.
Rotersand didn't just sit on their laurels and produce a clone of their first album but have evolved and expanded their music. The production values are high and, different as they might be, every track is superb. There are at least four potential club hits on there which is impressive.
The musical range is from soft synthpop via (Hard) EBM to Powernoise (Would You Buy This? is hilarious with a fine use of samples).
The album delivers what the pre-release single Exterminate, Annihilate, Destroy promised.

I hope that this album will finally give Rotersand the recognition they deserve in this country.
EAD is No 1 in the German Alternative Charts already, I'm sure the album will follow within the next few weeks.

If you like electronic music, buy this album, you will like it (or at least portions of it).

(6/5) - Er, I think I need to use a different scale.
A more detailed review will hopefully follow soon, I'm a bit busy today.

I'm currently avoiding doing a review of it today. Today is a Rabbit Junk/Schuldt angry digital hardcore/breakbeat type day rather than a Rotersand-y type day. I hope it's this it because my first reaction was one of unfortunate apathy.

For me, today, there were only a few songs that caught my attention and those were mostly ones that I've heard versions of before (The Last Ship and Exterminate). Produciton values on the other hand were nigh on perfect.

We shall see what tomorrow brings though :)

I think it's the variety that needs getting used to when you listen to the whole album but if you look at the tracks separately, it's a different story.

I even like the synthpoppy tracks, and that means something. ;o)

I'll have to get this - I've been largely let down by this years collection of releases. As far as EOL's 'Best Album of 2005' is concerned, Rotersand are shooting at an open goal.

There'll be even more in it for you than it is for me.

I got a copy of Zillo while I was in Munich a couple of months back - it had an *absolutely stonking* CD with it. Are all the CDs that good? Whats the best way to get hold of it?

I guess the CDs are hit and miss as most samplers.

You can subscribe from the Zillo website (http://www.zillo.de/abo/start.html) (EUR55 for Europe for a year. However, as so often on German sites, no credit card option).

I'll be in Germany in two weeks, I can bring a current copy, if you like?

Yeah, it'd be great if you could pick up the latest copy - I only really want the CD (I can't read the magazine, but I get as much useful information from German magazines as I do from English ones), but I'm quite happy paying for the magazine...

OK, that won't be a problem.

I've seen that you are member of [livejournal.com profile] album_reviews. Would you mind posting your review of WTG there? I think this community badly needs some more electronic stuff. You would have to adopt their scale though and add the cover.

But it's just a proposition, of course.

I was actually thinking of doing that when I have a more detaied review. ;o)

Yes, I agree, there isn't much electronic or other alternative music there. There's some indie and obscure, though.
