karohemdI realised this afternoon that I haven't seen a sign of Martin, the guy who rents the other studio flat in the house since the weekend. His bike is in the shed, but he's not in, he hasn't picked up his mail.
Now, normally, I wouldn't be worried, he's taken a couple of days off wrting his PhD or something.
Then, I remembered him mentioning that the law firm he's working for have an office in the US and that he might have to go back there again (not sure where, though).
Some possibilties:
- he's on holiday somewhere and fine
- he is in the US but can't get back because of the air traffic situation
- he was in New York and quite possibly in Manhattan (high profile law firm)
I'm hoping the first or second one applies.
It's strange how this gets to all of us, even to those who are so far removed from the scene and don't have any immediate family/friends concerned...
