They always release the game before the movie; it's publicity. The concept that you might not know the plot before you see the film seems to be out of fashion with the film industry.
Sadly, the suck factor for the game is apparently pretty high too.
But this tactic is widespread; the Lord of the Rings games were released several weeks before the movie also. Did we know what was going to happen? Yes. Did we buy the games to see some footage that wasn't yet in the trailers? Yes to that also. But those games and movies were of a much higher quality than anything Lucas has had his hands on recently.
Also, the novelization and comic book of Ep 3 has been out for a few weeks already. It's not like anything is going to be surprising.
