We've got ideas for Octaine sorted and I played a successful main set at the Calling. No fuckups, either. And people danced to Potentia Animi and Cultus Ferox! :o)
Considering the Calling was almost dead before midnight, having an almost full dancefloor is a bit of an accomplishment. People danced to stuff I thought they wouldn't and vice versa, which was odd but I blame the post-Whitby apathy.

See you there then, unless you're going to the gig at the MotM tonight?

Thanks, the first two sets were great!

Can't speak for the first set but I'm glad you enjoyed mine.
There'll be more in the future, I'm sure.

What does this mean for Exterminate Annihilate Destroy?

Unfortunately, one person remained, which I found really odd as Rotersand usually draw in people (as do Trauma Pet).
However, I have to say that last night wasn't representative for attendance, anyway (after Whitby, some people were unable to attend, etc.). While I was at the door, about 30 people came through and there might have been another 10 or so afterwards, usually there'll be at least twice as many people.

It's a fantastic track and the remix of Last Ship is so much better than the version on Septic V, too. I want the new album now! ;o)

It's weird, but people don't dance to stuff they don't know. Just wait...
I'm really curious (not to say tense) how people will react on the album, it's different from the first one.

But they danced to Heimataerde which nobody knew, either. I know the problem of people not dancing to stuff they don't know but if I play it often enough...

I prefer when people experiment because some just get too repetitive, especially in the EBM/Electro genre.

If you like experiments you will be pleased.
I really pray that people will like it, I guess I'm more nervous than the boys themselves.
Are you possibly coming to Edinburgh?

Can't wait! Hm, any chance of a promo copy? *flutters eyelashes* ;o)

For Dark City? I'm afraid not, I need a weekend off and only three of the bands (Rotersand, scrap.edx and Tactical Sekt) appeal to me, while I don't consider knob-twiddlers like scrap and TS live acts in the first place.
The Implant crew is DJing which would be another reason but it's a bit too far for just a club currently.

Oh, the music did not enter the promo-copy stadium so far. They would kill me (and rightly so) if I handed out the unfinished material I have here.

Too far? Rotersand (and me) are going there for just one day from Germany. Come on, it's in the neighbourhood for you... ;-)

Oh, I assumed that it's not ready yet just for when it is. If not, no trouble. Rotersand is a band I gladly fork out money for.

I know, but this weekend is really inconvenient as it's my only free one in the next month or so and the last three weeks have been really busy...
I gave it some thought when it was announced (flights would have been cheaper then) but decided against it in the end.

So you leave me with this Apop-song in my head...

*giggles*
Oh, I'm sorry.
A couple of years ago I was at a really good club in London playin Hard EBM, Electro and Noise but as they progressed towards the morning, they played more and more requests, including bloody Covenant and even worse, "Starsign" by APB which was stuck in my head for some reason before I got there. There I was, thinking I finally got rid of it and then they played it as last track. I could have strangled the DJ...

Hey, hey, careful, you are talking to one of the biggest Covenant-fans on earth (if not the biggest, they saved my life ;-))
Apop is a different story, but nevertheless I sometimes love to dance to it. (I'm always a bit ashamed then though)
I like futurepop when it's embedded in other stuff. One of my best club-evenings is only two weeks ago when I've been in the Kir Club in Hamburg. Sven Enzelmann played an absolutely varied set with songs from NIN, Nitzer Ebb, DM, DAF, Fixmer/Mc Carthy, Underworld, Front 242, Covenant, MM, The Cure, Mediengruppe Telekommander, Tok Tok, The Azoic, Combichrist, Chemical Brothers, VNV... etc.pp.
AND he played Apop. It was just fitting that moment. I had so much fun that evening.

I actually don't mind Covenant but if you hear "Call the Ships to Port" every single Friday, you get mental after a while.

That club sounds really good.

You played the album version, right? It's the better one, but the beginning is retarded, time enough to leave the dancefloor for the not-knowing. It would be interesting if people stayed there in case you play the club version, with the stomp starting earlier.

I skipped the beginning, mixed the first two Dalek samples into the previous track and faded over when the beat started so no awkward dancefloor silence there.

Well, mmm. Then I don't know. Let's wait and see. :-)
