Got the new album in the post this morning.
Great stuff, mostly acoustic and a lot more varied than Nebraska or Ghost of Tom Joad musically.
It's difficult to review it completely when it's just playing in the background and you can't really pay attention to the lyrics. I need some time with it alone in a darkened room but at first listen, it's already rather good.
Not for you if you like the all out rock stuff but do get it if you like his songwriting.
For me definitely stronger than The Rising.
There'll be a song by song review when I find some time.
It's also the first Springsteen album with an Explicit Lyrics sticker (because of Reno, I assume).
Preliminary verdict: 5/5
I'm even more pissed off that I can't get to see him in May. Fucking touts.
