Good end to a hectic week
23 Apr 2005 12:48 amFinished work early as there was nothing left to do, headed into town to walk around a bit and watch the punts and ducks surfing the weir (well, not quite). Nice day but getting a bit chilly.
When I arrived at the Old Orleans,
feanelwa and Andrew were already there and more people turned up soon so we grabbed our table.
the_lady_lily turned up and was congratulated, hugged and fed cocktails. ;o)
The food wasn't bad at all (I had the catfish, not blackened as the menu suggested but nicely pan-fried) but obviously no comparison to the real thing. Too much chicken, not enough variety in fish and seafood dishes. Also, the portion wasn't very big so I had a Hot Chocolate Fudge Brownie Sundae (mmmmmm) as dessert.
More and more people turned up so we moved to the tables in the courtyard as there wasn't enough room at the bar.
Chickened out at about 10 because I was knackered and wanted to put my feet up.
Read a bit and am now watching The Breed on SciFi. Quite enjoyable vampire flick with a twist and really interesting styling (somewhere between Brazil, the future part of Twelve Monkeys and Underworld). With better actors, this would be brilliant, this way it's just a good way of winding down with your feet up.
Over the weekend, I will be busy at home doing things I've long pushed off. *nods*
