James Brown tickets here (26th and 27th of June at The Forum). Very pricey, though, 43 quid incl. fee and postage.

Date: 8/4/05 12:38 am (UTC)I admit to liking quite a bit of music that these days can be referred to as 'hippy dippy', or to be exact dating from about 1968 to 1974. Now, I live in the Midlands and recently found out that Crosby Stills and Nash are playing in Birmingham soon. However, as soon as I found out that tickets are either £38.50 or £42.50 I lost interest VERY quickly...I mean, I do like their sound but for me anything over 25 quid is taking the mickey. Especially when I saw tickets for Alice Cooper supported by Twisted Sister for 24 notes :)
Guess I am just fickle!

Date: 8/4/05 11:00 am (UTC)I saw James Brown supporting the Chilis last year so I probably won't go. It would be nice to see him close up, though.
I don't care how much tickets for Bruce Springsteen will be, though. As it's the Royal Albert Hall, I'll expect a price of well over 50 quid which I'm quite happy to pay.
Melissa Etheridge last year was also 50 quid (for a circle seat). First I was surprised that the concert wasn't sold out but I think the main reason for that was the price. Ten or fifteen quid less per ticket and the venue would have been full, I'm sure.
My first proper gig was Meat Loaf in '88 at the Freiheitshalle (about 1,500 capacity) in Hof. Cost: DM23, so at the current exchange rate about 8 quid.
