Pope again

The ritual procedures (removing of his affects from the apartments, breaking of the ring etc.) are quite interesting. One of the reports on BBC News 24 just mentioned that one method of finding out if the Pope was dead used to be to knock on his forehead with a silver hammer three times. If there was no reaction, the Pople would be pronounced dead. I hope they have a medical professional doing that now...

At least that was reasonably quick.
Now the mourning and the politics start. Let's see what happens.

I continue to wonder why it is that a man believed to be the greatest of God's agents on earth is mourned? Surely, by all the beliefs of his religion, he is assured a place in eternal bliss...
