Robots was OK, nothing to write home about. No comparison to the likes of The Incredibles or Shrek. Also, I guess animating mechanical things and make them appear human is kind of dated. Pixar have been doing it for over 20 years and better. I think I giggled once or twice and cringed far more often at bad puns. It's also targeted at a very young audience and unlike Shrek or Incredibles doesn't have several layers of humour except for some bad attempts at innuendo.
Doesn't bode well for Ice Age 2 next year.

Ice Age 1 would have worked well as half an hour of gags with the squirrel.

The rest of it was just taking up time between the squirrel set pieces.
