A long day
12 Mar 2005 11:49 pmGot up at 7 (!), trained to London to take part in a neuro-linguistic study which included an MRI scan of my brain. All very interesting and my brain looks very interesting when it's cut up in small slices (so do my eyes and teeth). There were also some reaction and other aptitude tests. Looking forward to the result and the pictures of my brain.
Next stop was the London Eye, got there well in time to pick up my ticket and join the sizeable queue. The weather was fine but the sun stood in the southwest which meant the Houses of Parliament were against the light. The windows weren't the cleanes and there were some nasty reflections but I hope I got some decent photos.
Then I wanted to scoot up to Finchley for Leisure Games but the tube wasn't running to F Central and I'm sure the bus would have taken longer so I went to Camden instead as I had a scheduled meeting with friends at 4. Saw a very cool pair of New Rocks but resisted and also managed to go into Resurrection Records and come out again without buying anything (have a 100 quid order from infrarot.de in the pipeline) so just bought a couple of comics (Elric 1 and 2, very shiny).
Off to Kings Cross next to meet with my German/Greek friends to for chats, coffee and NOLA photos.
Popped into the Requiem game, saw lots of faces, chatted a bit, took some photos, gave
cryx a much needed neckrub and then, on the way home, was tempted by the Thai place just up the road (Busaba Eathai). It was the quickest, best Thai food I've had ever. The Duck Curry was flavoursome, creamy, the duck being pink while literally falling apart in your mouth, the rice nice and sticky and the lemongrass tea just the right accompaniment. All for under 14 quid. Yummy indeed.
Got to Kings Cross, waited for the train, was lucky to get a seat and felt like a sardine until I was home.
