They're making a Miami Vice film with Colin Farrell as Crocket and Jamie Foxx as Tubbs. Not sure if this is a good thing or not...
What's next? Kojak? Streets of San Francisco? Magnum, PI?

That's just wrong!

I would almost prefer Kojak to Miami Vice, anyway. That man had panache.

Indeed

KOJAK - New TV series in post production. Ving Rhames is playing Kojak.

Magnum - There is talk about making a movie of Magnum PI but no one has actually done anything about it to date.

Streets of San Francisco - No rumours of anything to do with this one. You're safe :p

But Kojak wasn't black...

I don't want to lose my childhood and teenage memories of superb crime programs. :o)

More Movies....

Yeah, but then again he wasn't anglo-saxon either :p

If you want to retain your childhood memories it's probably best not to go and see 'any' of the remakes that are being planned. Believe me 70's and 80's TV serials are currently the vogue in movieland. The A-Team (2006), Baywatch (2006), Dallas (2006), Flash Gordon (2006), Lassie (2006), Miami Vice (2006), The Munsters (2006), Aeon Flux (2005), Bewitched (2005), Knight Rider (2005, Dukes of Hazzard (2005), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), Highlander: The Source (2005), Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (2005), The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse (2005), Lost Girls (think 'Lost Boys' 2005), The Magic Roundabout (2005), The Pink Panther (2005), Six Million Dollar Man (2005)......

(Oh, btw - The Watchmen by Alan Moore is also now apparently a reality with Paul Greengrass directing (he of Bourne Supremacy fame) and is due to be released late 2005!).

Not the A-Team! Nobody can replace Dwight Schultz or Mr T...
Well, Sky Captain showed that you can make good pulp these days so why not Flash Gordon? Aeon Flux could be good. Six Million Dollar Man but not the Fall Guy (my favourite for a long time, I had a huge crush on Heather Thomas).

Well, after 'Shaft' and 'Starsky & Hutch', Miami Vice seems like a logical progression.

But 'Baywatch the motion picture'? Now THAT I would like to see... ;)
