[Holiday Diary - Day 4] Christmas Eve

Last night, just after updating LJ, AVG detected a stupid worm/trojan I had no idea how it got there (hadn't opened any emails or similar) so my laptop was a bit busy. It's all clear now, just ran AVG again to make sure and it was gone.

The weather is quite horrible, about 5 degrees C with the odd spot of rain. The snow is almost gone now (as the photos will testify). I'm glad I braved the cold on Wednesday to take the photos in town. They predict more rain tomorrow but it's supposed to get colder on Sunday and Monday with some snow only to warm up again afterwards.
Just saw on the news that some parts of the US had a bit of a cold and snow spell. I guess the average between the two would just be right for us. ;o)

Traditional Christmas Eve lunch (at least in our family) consisted of Bratwürste with Sauerkraut and dinner was carp in a dark beer sauce (yum!). Present giving was low-key as agreed so nothing exciting to report unless you want to know about the colours of my new socks and pants. ;oP
However, I do have a new collection of checked shirts, just to do my username justice. ;o)

Mum's not very confident anymore (various illnesses leading to depression) but she can still cook. I've inherited at least some of her talent, it seems, although I haven't had a chance to try my luck at roasts or baking yet.
Today's was roast haunch of venison. A bit dry as it was well done but nice nonetheless.
