Didn't quite done as much and as well as I'd have liked. This was due to me forgetting my gloves and freezing my fingers off and also because I felt a little insecure on my own with a grand of kit. I had taken the tripod along but it was a little bit too busy at the places I wanted to use it, so most of the pics were shot handheld at high ISO. Must have a look at monopods...

Have a look at the photos and let me know what you think. I especially like the one of the blue windows in Market Passage.

The blue windows in Market Passage are great! - that's a really good shot - imo, anyway. The green windows opposite Ken Stevens I thought were good, and there's one of the shots into that street that I particularly liked, too :-). Nice set of photos - I like :-).

Thanks!
When I walked past Market Passage some time ago I thought, I really need to take a photo of that and now I have. :o)
I'm now waiting for [livejournal.com profile] davefish to take me apart for the amateur I am. ;o)

* remembers when Ken Stevens was a Kitchen Rejects shop ... things have gone more upmarket since, to the detriment of kitchenwareless students *

I meant shop *opposite* Ken Stevens of course, doh. Whatever it is called.

That shop was superb. I got my solid steel wok there for a fiver because it had a small cosmetic mark on the inside, i.e. the surface that gets scratched by tools, anyway.

Well, next time you want a bodyguard for wandering around with a grand's worth of kit, give me a shout- I like walking.

I did ask if anyone wanted to come along two posts back so I just assumed everyone was busy...
Will do.

some really nice colours there! i would make one constructive comment however, which is that with some aggressive cropping you would have been able to remove a lot of featureless foreground in some of the pics. Don't be afraid to process!

don't forget that to most people cameras are just cameras. however, professional thieves are likely to spot lowepro bags a mile away!

The colours were really the point of the exercise.
Constructive criticism is always welcome! I did very little processing on the photos (mainly due to lack of time), just a bit of a crop and resize.

I know and that's why I felt so uncomfortable.
