Slept until 1pm, had "breakfast" and went into town for some necessary shopping. After the closure of C&A, no place seems to have I really like or that fits me, I'm therefore still looking for a new, not too thin, affordable leather jacket but I have new leather gloves, pants, socks, t-shirts and a new shirt plus some nice French cured sausages and finally white peppercorns again, the latter two from market stalls.

Funny scene: In a doorway opposite the Boots on Sidney street was a Scottish piper in full regalia busking. A fire engine (without lights and siren) drove by and the piper changed his tune, imitating a siren. It sounded pretty accurate and was almost as loud. That caused lots of giggling and applause from the passers-by. ;o)

Decided I wanted some entertainment so went to see the 5pm showing of The Incredibles. Story-wise, it was quite good but as [livejournal.com profile] raggedy_man said, not A+. However, the characters were brilliant as was the whole look and style of the film. As much as Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was 30s pulp, this was 60s superhero/James Bond cheesiness from the cars down to the architecture and furniture, especially in Edna's house. Technically, Pixar have moved animation yet another notch, especially the hair and water effects (they had a whole animation department dealing with hair and cloth movement).

The trailers were only for animated films, there are a lot of them coming out in the next months. Polar Express doesn't look my cup of tea, I'm probably missing not having grown up in the UK to really appreciate The Magic Roundabout (looked good, though) but Robots (from the people who did Ice Age) looked cool and funny.

I didn't like the ones in Cambridge. Either too stiff or not the right style.
Bad icon!
