My set at the Calling

For once, the decks were working, just the mixer seems to get worse.
Not a lot of people dancing, sadly. Just proves that most people will only dance to stuff they know but at least
greebotrill,
necro_angel and
hampsterboy came out regularly.
It was good fun but I so need more practice. Still, I didn't fuck up and both the Trauma Pet demo and the Killing Miranda Promo played.

Date: 29/9/04 12:30 am (UTC)It's a bugger tho; no one dances to new music but then complain if you play anything different :/ Perennial DJ complaint.

Actually, there were no complaints, only compliments, just not that many people dancing. Mind you, the dancefloor usually doesn't get going before 10:30 or 11, anyway and it was quite dead today.

Date: 29/9/04 11:08 am (UTC)I was impressed on Saturday at people dancing to non-cliches, also impressed when they enjoyed the cliches and no one whinged at me for them either :D
Early sets are usually a bugger anyway, as you say, as no one's liquored up enough to dance :/

Date: 29/9/04 11:58 am (UTC)I just hope the Kambar gets itself sorted and I get to run my own industrial/electro club soon, and get enough punters to maintain it.

Date: 29/9/04 08:05 pm (UTC)It's been a shame the Kambar has been so buggered this last couple of months; Octaine seemed to be doing well :/

Date: 29/9/04 10:36 pm (UTC)It's always quiet over summer so it wouldn't have been viable to run Octaine.
I'm currently cheesed off with them because they can't make their mind up about giving me dates for other things (Octaine dates are booked til the end of the year).
Lottery win and bunker looks more and more likely... ;o)

Date: 29/9/04 08:41 am (UTC)You'd do well down here also. Come and treat us to good music... Or we'll go find your good music. Maybe. If we can EVER get there.

Date: 29/9/04 09:33 am (UTC)If you can make it to Octaine on the 14th of October, I'll play some harsh tunes in the last set and there will be some ambient stuff in the first set in November.
I'll try and get down to your neck of the woods. I should be at Black Machine in November. A friend of mine (

Date: 29/9/04 09:40 am (UTC)She's doing it as a warm up gig as she's doing Oslo Synthfest later in the month (she'll love me telling you that). There's going to be a Goth dj (eugh), an Industrial/noize dj (hurrah Katy!) and a bleepy, ebmy one too! So there's somethig for everyone.
Unless she's doing the October one, which is possible. My memory's going in my old age...
