As travelling to Edinburgh in the middle of August is either not practical and costly (long train journey for 70 quid) or too expensive (flight from Stansted for 105), I won't go. It's a bit much just for a weekend and I have some expenses coming up and I'm saving for my new toy for Christmas so I'm trying to keep my finances reasonably balanced.

So, sorry to sublevel3, I'm sure there'll be an opportunity later in the year when the new club is running.

Update: Plus, it's the Cambridge Weekend and I really want to get to as many games as possible before the end.

Someone's LJ mentioned that currently it's much cheaper for foreigners to fly to Glasgow then take the train to Edinburgh, presumably Glasgow has spare capacity so cheaper rates are available, while Edinburgh is overloaded with festival traffic.

Not sure if this is worth considering for travellers within the UK, but I thought I'd mention it.

Hmm, a flight to Glasgow with Ryanair would cost me just under 50 pounds. I can't find train tickets at the moment but that might be worth considering.

No problem. I know what it's like.
At the festival time it's probably so much more expensive due to the demand.
I actually stay in Glasgow and get the bus through to Edinburgh, which is £6 return.
