18 Jul 2004 01:04 pmAs I want to buy it for Christmas, I had a look around for the D70 when I was in Germany and the best high street price (EUR 1,200) for the kit (incl. a nice zoom lens) is less or about the same as the street price of the body only over here. Considering that both are exported and the same version, there is no reason why there should be a difference of over £200.

Date: 18/7/04 02:04 pm (UTC)Then there's the aspect of people like me who are from Euro countries but live and work in the UK. If I were paid in Euros, it'd be much easier.
Not that the Euro doesn't have its drawbacks, prices have increased quite a bit since the introduction. Some things cost the same in Euro now they used to cost in Deutschmarks five years ago. Still no comparison to UK prices, especieally food and living (rents etc.).
