Holiday diary - Day 1
9 Jul 2004 09:40 pm(written as I go along)
Mooched around all day while getting ready and packing but couldn't be arsed to tidy. Oh well.
Thought I save a fiver and took the bus instead of a taxi and it wasn't a problem til Drummer St. There, we had to wait for the replacement driver and then he wouldn't stop letting fucking FLSs in (at least 15 mins waiting). Got to the station just in time for a train that was ... late by six minutes. Thankfully, this was empty except for a family of chavs with howling kids. *shakes head* Why do the worst people have to breed so actively?
Then my mum called. If you think the weather's bad here, at home it's even worse. Thunder and hailstorms with gale force winds could make for an interesting flight. Good thing I don't get travelsick, really.
No problems on the train and no queue at the check-in desk, am now sitting at the gate, killing time with reading and eating a light packed dinner.
Flight was delayed because some fuckwit yobs decided to be late... The flight was quite calm despite the weather warnings and got to Nuremberg without many turbulences. Parents had made it down as well and the drive home was fine, although it rained a bit. Was finally in bed at about 2:30.
Friday
Slept in til 11, had breakfast and started preparing things for Captain Future on Sunday, continuing after lunch. First, my old printer from the early 90s decided to play up but worked later on, at least for printing the character sheets. It doesn't seem to like pdfs, though, so no printing the handy CAH tables, bah. Pretty stupid as I could have done that at work but had forgotten about it. :o(
Now all I need is a scenario and players on Sunday.
Need to pack as well but that won't be a problem, then a shower and an early night as I need to get up at 8 tomorrow morning. There's nothing interesting on TV so that won't be a problem.
*BOUNCE* Really looking forward to tomorrow and meeting old friends at NURD, Nuremberg's Ultimate Roleplay Disaster.
Won't have net access til Sunday night but you can text me if you want.
