RotK short review

karohemdVery short: Wow. Stunning, gripping, moving.Still can't believe it lasted almost 3.5 hours and there are large chunks missing (confrontation of Saruman, scourin of the Shire...)
- Strider and Aragorn never did, but Elessar had washed his hair. ;o)
- During the assault on Minas Tirith, when the oliphants attack, I half expected one of the Rohirrim to shoot an arrow with a rope attached at one of the legs, gallop around the beast a couple of times (One more pass...) and disengage the rope ...
- Really dodgy green screen effect when F&S leave Mt. Doom. Why?
- The dodgy trebuchets in Minas Tirith. Here's a better explanation then I could write up in the short time. Even if they were strong enough to bear the load they'd snap during the first shot because they're anchored to the walls.
- Legolas overdoing it with the oliphant. Still cool, though.
- Soppy films usually never move me but I'm being honest I had tears in my eyes when the Gondorians all dropped to their knees in front of the hobbits.
- The music threw me away again.
- I so need to watch it on a big screen again. There's bound to be loads I missed.
Anyway, must get ready, taxi arrives in 30 minutes.
