I have a slight problem here. In a Marketing text I have the following sentence after a list of problems:
"[company)'s software tools have got it licked".
Never heard of it being used before like this. Any ideas?

as in "beaten" or "sorted" ; i.e. our product was aiming to fill niche market x but unfortunately company y's product alreasy has that licked!
Bit dated but thats textbooks for you!
