I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well, or very well. We have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

I really, really dislike the smell and taste of cherries. I find the smell from a box of fresh cherries almost as repulsive as the smell of rotting meat, and the taste of fresh cherries in my mouth gets a similar reaction to having licked a bar of soap.

Oh, I know.

I'm partly deaf in my left ear. I'm not sure what the cause is, but successive doctors have got quite interested and drawn diagrams in an apparent attempt to confuse the hell out of me :)

The upshot of this is that I spend an awful lot of conversations nodding and smiling in total ignorance of what's being said. And conversations in nightclubs are just doomed to failure.

Will give a list of food don'ts for your viewing pleasure. *grins*

1) Button Mushrooms. YEAACH! I can handle Portobello, or Wild, Shitake, etc, but something about Button mushrooms just.. blecks me out.
2) Runny eggs. GAH! If there is any juice in my eggs, I will not eat them.
3) Oysters. Just don't like them at all.
4) Sweet Potatos (or Yams, for that matter) Eeeeewwwww.
5) Banannas. Just don't like them.

So! There's new stuff. :)

Let's see...

I like the smell of musky men's cologne, oranges and coffee. I love the feel of being wrapped up in warm blankets in the middle of a cold room. I am a passionate consumer of pastas, and I make a mean meatloaf. I have an eclectic taste in music, movies and literature. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, and sometimes I like it that way.


I dislike the smell of cigarette smoke, cooking cabbage and old ladies's bad-attempt-at-rose-water perfumes. I hate conservative, right-wing tainted politicians and persons, the fact that no one in the Northern US makes sweet tea anymore, and the way that the more comfy a shoe is, the worse it has to smell.

I paint miniatures, game, and collect stuffed pigs in my spare time.

I have had way too many hobbies, meaning my parents probably spoiled me as a child. To list a few....ballet, ice skating, horseback riding, archery, fencing, rock climbing, floor hockey, coin collecting, piano lessions, violin lessions, gymnastics, softball, football (the non american type), and erm I suppose the obvious of rpg-ing.

When I was younger I honestly believed that I had no emotions. At night I would force myself to think about things that would make me cry, just to prove that I could hurt... and tell myself that it meant someday I would be able to Love, too.

It wasn't until I was living on my own at 18-19 that I realized most of the 'hollowness' was due to an intense hatred of most members of my family.
