Was wandering around the DVD shelves at Tesco's and my eyes caught this film. It sounded interesting, and I wanted to treat myself to a little something so I picked it up. I hadn't heard of it before and reading the blurb in the booklet, I knew why. It came out pretty much at the same time as The Lost Boys, which of course was the higher budget vampire movie with the better known cast, so Near Dark vanished into obscurity.
Just watched it and it's cool that they re-released it. It's definitely watchable, has some great Yes! moments and some good one-liners.
Lance Henriksen plays the leader of the group of vampires, and he's very good.
If you get the DVD (or want to borrow it, you're more than welcome), make sure you watch the documentary on the second DVD, especially the interviews with the actors are cool, how they got into and stayed in character and so forth.
The film has some cool music as well, including a cover of Fever by The Cramps.
