astatine210 said, you leave the cinema with a very wide grin on your face, going "Arrr!" at random intervals.
Johnny Depp steals the show, costumes, setting, props are superb, there are some very good fight scenes, quite remarkably nicely blended in CGI (much better quality than Matrix R). Also, the film doesn't take itself seriously so it's a very good laugh. Shame about the Hollywood ending, though.
If you haven't seen it, go and do it now!

Makes you wonder if the monkey is going to put some gold into the hands of dead bloke, or if Pirates of the Caribbean 2 will be "Revenge of the zombie monkey" ;)
