Flatscreens smell bad when they blow up

We almost had a Star Trek moment in the office today. There was a strange "phut" noise from the Swedish department, a squeak from Kristina, some smoke and a horrible smell. The only thing that was missing was a shower of sparks ;o)

In my career, I've had occaision to witness quite a few computer failure related explosions. Nockers take note! :-
1. Incorrectly wired PC PSUs will cause a Trekkie-like explosion complete with Pyrotechnics and sparks if you do it properly.
2. Blown Fuser bulbs can burn the fused on toner and cause a really bad smell. I believe they can also explode.
3. Broken charge wires in older laser printers can set fire to the paper as it goes through the printer, causing a nice fire and if the toner goes up, carcinogenic smoke and a horrible smell too. (Remember kids, Toner is your friend! Well it is if you fancy Lung or Skin Cancer anyway).
4. CRTs can make a good pyrotechnic display.
5. Laptops with an incorrectly wired up screen will blow the screen with a similar effect to that reported by Ozzy. I'm told if you do something with the Inverter, the same thing happens (Laptop hardware not my forte).
6. Overclocking + Older AMD chips + blue tack used to hold on the heat sink = fun meltings!
