Next Octaine
30 Jun 2003 01:15 pmTaken from Andy's post in
club_octaine to get as many people as possible:
"After the positive response we received from Thursday's bash the next Octaine will be held in August (and most likley be the start of us holding an event bi-monthly). If anyone has a preference for a date (curiously we want as many of you able to turn up as possible) then shout out now least we decide to run the one night you have to go babysit your granny's hedgehog. Should anyone have the urge to shout out tracks/tunes/sounds that want to be hearing then say sooner rather than later so we can dig it up for you. And the guest DJ slot is still open! So if you want to share the decks with me and Ozzy raise a hand and we can start talking."
Also, we will probably change the format slightly, away from smaller blocks of sets of one DJ playing one kind of music to longer sets with more variety in them.
We'll add some well-known tunes (I guess I'll be playing Hellraiser and Untold Blasphemies for Industrial) to get people dancing but will remain true to our concept of playing unusual and lesser known tracks.
As soon as we have a date, help on advertising and flyering will again be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
