First of all, thank you very much to everyone there, especially the ever wonderful [livejournal.com profile] hyperabi for running the OOC side and [livejournal.com profile] ravnospot and his minions for the IC side and the kitchen volunteers for giving me a lot more time to be Sam. There will be photos once I sorted them through (they are up to their usual standard, thankfully), hopefully before the end of the week.
Now a more detailed account:
Friday
Got up and ready in time and picked up [livejournal.com profile] kinkykay and [livejournal.com profile] jasonooc, met up with the rest of the Cambridge lot ([livejournal.com profile] andrewdavies, [livejournal.com profile] zenmeisterin and [livejournal.com profile] clawboy42), swapped Jason for Craig and after a bit of slow traffic near Birmingham got to Llangollen without a hitch. As soon as I got there, saw the signs for the Dr Who museum, Kwiksafe and Mushroom World, it almost felt like coming home. Parked, walked towards Bailey's (the mead/delicatessen shop), saw the others in a pub, picked up Apple Mead (yay!) and blackberry wine and joined the others for pub grub.
Ran into [livejournal.com profile] syieniess, [livejournal.com profile] suave_steve and [livejournal.com profile] raggedhalo, chatted a bit and then drove to Chirk station to pick up [livejournal.com profile] crocodilewings. Got to hostel with a number of people already there but all doors locked.
[livejournal.com profile] hyperabi, [livejournal.com profile] evilup and the rest of the Southern lot turned up soon after and Abi sorted things.
Checked in and then set off with [livejournal.com profile] venator_roars (who I shared a room with) to Wrexham for shopping. Shopping for two meals for thirty people is very scary but we managed and we even stayed within budget. Got back, unloaded and went IC, leaving minions to sort out sandwich dinner.
As usual, didn't get involved in plot and just socialised IC. Good start to the weekend.
Saturday
The Nockers had transformed the courtyard into a maze of red/white hazard tape and after taking it down used the tape to make a fist-thing for Spanners. *shakes head*.
Watched the jousting which featured Nockers on motorbikes and was quite amusing. Helped make buffet lunch incl. tuna mayo and, of course, Dippadoom™
More socialising during and after lunch, then some preparations for dinner. Nobody told me the duelling competition had started so I got in at the second round.
Sam beat Sir Aiken (the previous Champion of Albion) in three straight rounds and had a bit of a struggle with Small but won in the end!
Then, the wedding. A good laugh and Lady Sophia ([livejournal.com profile] syieniess) looked absolutely stunning in that dress.
Afterwards, first party and then Commoner Disco run by the Redcaps which brought a nice end to that evening.
Sunday
The morning saw Rowan ([livejournal.com profile] taimatsu) win the archery competition. Fear the Boggans!
Neither of us took part in the Grand Melee, so that was won by Sprengmeisterin ([livejournal.com profile] zenmeisterin's Nocker).
Somehow, Sam managed again to avoid any plot but that was fine by me. :o)
The Nockers grossed everyone out by putting every- and any fluid (incl. Spaghetti Hoops) through the Sodastream. *shudders*
Time out was called and everyone was happy, turning to OOC partying. Most of the rest of the food was consumed and BBQed and then adjourned upstairs when it started to rain again.
Went to my room at about 10:30 to put up and rest my hurting feet a bit ... and fell asleep. Oh well, at least I was well rested and happy on Monday morning.
Monday
Helped clear up and got ready. Amazingly, everyone was ready and gone 10 minutes before our scheduled time (9:30).
Way back home was trouble-free except for a slow bit on the M6 that soon cleared up. Short break at Corley (mmmm, Magnum Vengeance) and we were in Cambridge by two.
Will probably start on the photos now, get some takeaway for tonight and get an early night.
A book that's been mentioned several times in LJland will have arrived at my desk, I guess. Hm, how am I supposed to work tomorrow? ;o)

Anyway, a grand weekend it was.
