IC: In response
19 Jun 2003 03:57 pmKlan Nocker might rock but not for very long because they'd starve if the Bogganarmi refuse to serve food to obnoxious dimwits who try to use the stove for their useless experiments and blow it up in the progress...
If all else fails, I'm sure our Warlord will come up with a cunning plan.
Sam, General of the Bogganarmi
OOC: Ozzy, Assistant Event Coordinator: Food, allegedly *winces* Damn you, Abi! *shakes fist*

Date: 19/6/03 11:52 am (UTC)2) It looks and sounds like a sleeker, faster, more kung-fu-esque term. Try saying it over and over again, in a pseudo-cantonese accent if you feel up to it.
3) It's more satisfying to shout when drunk. With no space between the words, it's easier to flow into the "armi", and even if you do stumble, people are less likely to notice.
4) It's a proper noun. Ergo it is grammatically correct.

Date: 19/6/03 12:47 pm (UTC)2) Boggans are anything but sleek and fast. I can't believe you actually mentioned kung fu in a Boggan-related context.
3) I don't get drunk, ever.
4) I disagree. ‡

3) You had nothing to do with the Bogganarmi in its founding stages, and therefore your teetotalness, or indeed any of your personal characteristics, is irrelevent to its nomenclature.
4) Fine. Still a Proper Noun.

Blame
Besides, the Bogganarmi doesn't solely consist of Boggans, it includes everyone who helped out on the OOC front. It was an OOC term which got transferred into IC at one point.
Look at it this way, it's almost like a trademark, and many product or company names have unusual spellings to distinguish them from everyday words.
Besides, it's a roleplaying game, not the real world, dammit. ;o)

Date: 19/6/03 12:45 pm (UTC)'Bogganarmi' sounds way too trendykewl for Boggans to be involved in. Most Boggans are comfortable, homely-type people and just wouldn't go in for that kind of leet-speek spelling. I care not what gets used as an OOC term; I can think it's a bit silly and not have to get involved, but if it's an IC concept then as the player of a Boggan character I have to deal with it in some way, and it just feels *wrong*. It's not a trademark - there is presumably only one army of Boggans that we're consdering here, there aren't lots of competing armies of Boggans, and therefore using simply 'Boggan Army' is not going to cause confusion.
How far-reaching an IC concept is it? What is it, IC? œ

I point again to the bit that says "fun" and "game"...
At least I have the T-Shirt to prove it.
Also
And that is the last in this argument. So ner.
