Just came back from seeing it. It's good, it's not worse than the first but it isn't better, either. Simply another story in the Matrixverse. Some questions have been answered, new ones formulated. Looking forward to Revolutions.

Question to those who own the soundtrack: What's the track during the Zion dance scene?

Question to [livejournal.com profile] sogoth: When Link comes home, there's a woman with kids with his wife. Wasn't that Gina Torres who plays Zoe in Firefly? The credits zipped past a bit too quickly for me to check.

The Agents are part of the Matrix, yet they waste clips and clips of bullets trying to shoot people, or in some cases use martial arts.
I thought they actually have some sort of control over the Matrix, if that is the case, why can't they do some more drastic things to fight Neo and co.? Morpheus says in the first film: "Do you think that's air you're breathing?". If someone gets hit by a bullet/die in the Matrix, they die outside, so why can't they just switch off the air supply or something? Might be too easy and not as cool but would be realistic.
Is it just me or was the "candy" the Oracle was eating a red pill?

1 - I always figured that was because they were a part of the program - they have to follow certain rules too, just like the people who aren't Neo :) That they're not the system, they're just a part, there to do a certain specific function within set perameters.

2 - yeah, I thought that too :)

CD 1, Track 11: Fluke - Zion

can't they just switch off the air supply

To who? Like Morpheus said. 'Do you think that's air you're breathing?'

red Pill

Not the same Dayquil pill Neo took, but yep.

If the matrix avatar doesn't need air to survive, why does a bullet hurt it and consequently the actual human on the other end? That's the trick question.

The point is the avatar does. But what Morpheus meant is that it's only breathing a facsimile of air: 'air avatar'. Not real air. The bodies are in liquid tanks not breathing real air either.

"Normal" people aren't but what about the people in Zion? They need to breathe because they're completely human.

Going away from the agents (we've established that they can't manipulate the Matrix on a grander scale other than their immediate surroundings and their own speed etc.).
If, let's say Morpheus' avatar is in a room in the Matrix, and someone would pump the avatar air out of this avatar room then Morpheus would suffocate just like he would bleed when someone smacked him one with a sword?
That was the point I was trying to make.

but the end of the movie implies that the people of zion are avatars too; that the "real world" is a second level of the matrix.

thank gosh i'm not the only one who thinks that is a possible.
Other shocking things I've thought over is that the architect might have been lying, radical thing for a bad guy to do but you never know how low they might sink with something like Neo up against them.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one to come up with the thought that he might have been telling lies...

1/ I couldnt get over LInk being the character he plays in Oz :) Very wierd...............

And yes, its Gina Torres (I think..)

2/ They are self roaming programs, not directly a part of the Matrix, but they operate within its rules (else they wouldnt function there at all). Else they couldnt operate there at all.

S'actually a good Mage thing - if they break the illusion of the matrix (consensual reality) it bites back. Look at the stunned faces when they do 'superhuman' things in public.. be a hell of a clear up job!

3/ Red pill - dunno... didnt care; when the wise old trust your instinct, dont think and analyze, critictism is bad, trust me I'm a doctor bits come out I always groan...
