*grumbles*
24 Apr 2003 01:41 pmStupid Royal Mail. Yesterday morning there was a knock on the front door while I was still in bed. By the time I had put something on and staggered downstairs, the postman had already left his note. So I took that note to the delivery office (which thankfully is just around the corner from work) at lunchtime but I had forgotten my wallet and the fucker at the counter wouldn't give the letter to me without ID. I'd never needed ID before, just on the one day I don't have my wallet, he wants it... I ask him to send it to my work address instead so I'll have it this morning. This morning - nothing. How can it take two days to deliver a letter AROUND THE BLOODY CORNER???? I should have said I pick it up today.
I don't even know what it is, just saw that it was a letter. Not expecting anything, so who knows?
Update:
The morons sent it home again. Thankfully, the postman was later today and my landlord was up then.
It was the ticket for the Springsteen gig on the 26th of May!!
In other grumbles, my Battle Imp is utter shite.
At least work is a bit easier on stress levels than before.

Date: 24/4/03 06:02 am (UTC)And the German Post is not much better- my mother decided to send me two duck's breasts, so I could cook something nice around easter (thanks, but we do have shops in Berlin...)
She sent the parcel last tuesday, so it should have arrived on Wednesday. Did it arrive? Did it bollocks. Did it arrive on thursday? Fat chance. OK, so friday was a public holiday, but saturday wasn't. What arrived on saturday? no parcel. It finally arrived yesterday, a FULL EIGHT DAYS after being sent. This is for a parcel from Frankfurt to Berlin. I could hand deliver a parcel on horseback in that time. Grumble
Needless to say, the duck breasts have a lovely perfume by now and are, I'm sure perfectly suited for food poisoning. :(
