Karrgor rules!
12 Apr 2003 08:58 pmGot my copy of Cartoon Action Hour today, an RPG by Cynthia Miller and
eddyfate.
Ever wanted to play in one of those cartoon series from the 80s (Masters of the Universe, Brave Starr, She-Ra, Transformers etc.)? This is the game for you.
A simple and effective system that concentrates on story and action (and uses a D12!) and loads of info on characters and their abilities. A full campaign set is included as well so can get started straight away. And obviously it contains rules for creating a game background from your favourite series.
The game doesn't take itself seriously and it's quite clear how much enthusiasm the authors have put into it. For a small independent game, it's quite high production quality and the art ranges from adequate to superb. At 17 quid, you can do a lot worse than buying this book.
And the best line: "Just say no to cheese!"
If only I could get my hands on videos of Captain Future, my favourite cartoon series, then I'd write a series sheet for it. It's most likely pretty much unknown in the English speaking world, being a German/Japanese co-production based on the novels by Edmond Hamilton. It was the typical hero in shining (power) armour but with some very interesting story arcs and themes.
So, when will a Karrgor action figure be available? ;o)

Date: 13/4/03 07:41 am (UTC)On searching a bit last night, I realized they were showing it on German cable TV again. Damn, if I had known earlier, I could have asked a mate to tape them all.

*envy*
But I had a white "ray gun" that made electronic noises and looked almost like CF's :oP
Past Kindergarten for me, I definitely was in school already...
Now I can't remember what the blonde bimbo and the floating brain were called... Help!

BTW, is it running on German TV at the moment? If yes, could I be cheeky and ask you to tape it for me? I'm sure we can find something in exchange :o)

Date: 14/4/03 05:44 am (UTC)a) It is on Tele 5, which I don't get in Berlin;
b) I don't have a video recorder; and
c) It is probably on at a time when I would be at work anyway.
Apart from those minor glitches... ;)
Maybe someone else in Germany, with the necessary pre-requisites would oblige?
