Got up at 4(!) after 2.5 hours of sleep, got ready (managing to forget things like a USB cable for my camera and my earphones), taxi to station, train to Stansted Airport, bacon omelette for breakfast, reasonably comfortable easyjet flight to Munich, S-Bahn to central station where I met up with H. We walked to a nice cafe with a shady beer garden where we had lunch, a Weizen and a good, long catch-up chat. We parted ways back at the station and as I arrived at my platform I saw the notice that my train would only go halfway (stopped in Regensburg). An enquiry at the ticket office revealed the reason: the train drivers of that particular company were on strike and didn't do the complete schedule. I took the train to Regensburg and had to wait one and a half hours for my connection (which was 10 minutes late so I have no idea where this myth of reliable German train comes from). Anyway, made it to Marktredwitz where dad picked me up. Back home, we caught up with things, had quick cold dinner and then I fixed my parents' laptop with a simple power cycle. Phew.
Then I came upstairs to catch up with online things.
