I'm doing that this week with my Year 8s. Somewhere kicking around there is video footage of me and ironlord doing the same reaction in his garden with icing sugar and weedkiller... it's essentially how to make a weedkiller bomb. Obviously, I don't tell the kids that, or indeed use icing sugar (the surface area is dangerously high).
