Then I thought presenting it on a black plate with a little dusting of icing sugar would look nice, only for the container to slip and dump a whole lot of sugar on the plate. Not quite my day, I think.
Still, I'm happy how it tasted so that's encouraging.

Date: 14/6/10 04:12 pm (UTC)I was almost a bit shocked about the professional photographer ranting about how digital cameras have destroyed the business. Yes, everyone can produce digital photographs cheaply these days but you still need to know what you're doing. TBH, I don't have that much of an insight into the industry to judge but I think he was exaggerating there. I can see what he means with digital images swamping the market but it simply means there's a lot more chaff to go through.
He's dead right about "the eye", though. When you know what you're doing, all you need is a box with a hole and a means of capturing the picture in it. The better the camera is, the more control you have over exposure, DOF, colour representation, contrast and all that but you still need to frame the shot.
