This tiny brolly is awesome:

Apologies to those of you who read the strobist feed and have seen this already.
Speaking of strobist, this is quite ingenius, too.

*snicker* So, because my main problem at the moment is the damn foxes not coming out early enough (and thus the light has faded), I'm a master? Works for me :)

(The 5DmkII arrived on Wednesday, I'm crossing fingers for the weekend weather...)

*grins* That, too. The main point of the post was the ridiculousness of the tiny brolly, though.

Ooooh, nice upgrade! The only problem with the jump to full frame is that you lose the handy inherent 1.5 magnification of DX sensors for things that are small and far away (like foxes) but then again, you'll have some serious resolution to play with so even a rather harsh crop will still give you a decent shot. The excellent high ISO capabilities should help, too.

Quite. The swap loses me a lens -- my macro lens is EF-S not EF so won't work with a full-frame sensor -- but I don't do that much macro work anyhow so it's not a huge problem. I gave some thought to going to the 7D instead... but not a long thought.

My main problem is now going to be that my usual off-site backup procedure (I have an Amazon S3 account) will work substantially less well with files of 25Mb a time rather than 7Mb a time, if I shoot a lot ;)

Well, I kept my D80 as backup/secondary so I still use my DX lenses (I only have two).
I'm actually glad the D700 isn't ridiculous in the MP department, having 25MB files would drive me up the wall and I don't intend on printing anything larger than poster size.

Oh, sure, I'm not ditching the 20D, it's just now it's the backup rather than the main camera.

The one piece of kit I'd like would be a very long off-camera flash cable, and someone to hold it...

(Extension tubes for the Bronica, so I don't have to lug the bellows comes second.)

That's the great thing about the Nikon CLS remote flash trigger (built in), it works for quite a distance. I took this shot (http://www.flickr.com/photos/karohemd/133492219/) with the flash on a tripod directly in front of the band while I was on the balcony in the back of the room, probably about 8m away, if not more.

Nice. As I mostly shoot macro, I think I really need another pair of hands. ;)

*nods* That's a bit more tricky.

Funny thing is I talk about light but I don't have the money to buy the equipment to make the most of it.

Not true. Film cameras are ridiculously cheap these days. (OK so film processing isn't as cheap as it used to be, but B&W is perfectly doable at home.

So you know how much money I have to spend on cameras? That's worrying.

That's not quite what I meant. :) Um. A basic film SLR and a lens or two will cost you well under £100. Its all you'll need to get started.
