Apologies to those of you who read the strobist feed and have seen this already.
Speaking of strobist, this is quite ingenius, too.

Date: 14/5/10 11:34 pm (UTC)Ooooh, nice upgrade! The only problem with the jump to full frame is that you lose the handy inherent 1.5 magnification of DX sensors for things that are small and far away (like foxes) but then again, you'll have some serious resolution to play with so even a rather harsh crop will still give you a decent shot. The excellent high ISO capabilities should help, too.

Date: 15/5/10 09:17 am (UTC)My main problem is now going to be that my usual off-site backup procedure (I have an Amazon S3 account) will work substantially less well with files of 25Mb a time rather than 7Mb a time, if I shoot a lot ;)

Date: 15/5/10 11:55 am (UTC)I'm actually glad the D700 isn't ridiculous in the MP department, having 25MB files would drive me up the wall and I don't intend on printing anything larger than poster size.
